Special-Ind announces the distribution of specialized system-on-chips solutions from Magics Technologies, designed to operate in extreme radiation environments. These chips are highly integrated and radiation-resistant, making them suitable for use in space and nuclear applications to support the development of spacecraft, satellites, instrumentation and robotic systems.

Founded in 1955 and based in Milan, Italy, Special-Ind is part of the Steliau Technology Europe group and specializes in value-added distribution of electronic and electromechanical components for Italian and international customers. Its offering includes the entire value chain: sourcing, design and distribution, technical support, logistics and after-sales service. The company is also able to offer customized solutions for each project in a wide range of sectors: Space & Hi-Rel, Automotive, IoT & Connectivity, Mechanics, Thermal Management, Semiconductors, Embedded Solutions and IP&E.

Since April 11, the company has been operating in a new location: the futuristic Open 336 building on Viale Sarca in Milan. We are in the Bicocca area, and the building is an example of low-environmental-impact construction: thanks to a technology that mimics nature, it is in fact able to breathe like a tree, zeroing out carbon dioxide emissions and cleaning the air you breathe in.

A strong brand in Aerospace & Defense.

Magics Technologies was founded in 2015 and is based in Geel, Belgium; it is a fabless semiconductor supplier with a unique Radiation-Hardened-By-Design methodology, offering a broad portfolio of analog/mixed signal chips for the nuclear, space and defense markets. Among its product offerings are sensor interface chips, timing measurement chips, and data serialization chips.

The agreement with the Belgian brand will enable Special-Ind to expand offerings in the Space & Hi-Rel business unit by providing a complete portfolio of ITAR-free chips to meet the ecosystem needs and Radiation-Hardened robustness requirements of OEM customers.
