"Erin Brockovich Strong as Truth."

When in the editorial office we had to choose the cover image for this "second" 20th issue of the magazine Elettronica AV, the photo of this stylized "electronic tree of life" won hands down, and within a few minutes... here is the layout! An image that, in our opinion, combined the pervasiveness of electronics with the sustainability of a plant with strong roots and a mighty trunk: as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

As quickly as the cover was chosen, I chose as usual the movie to accompany the editorial to this incredible issue of our magazine; or even better: this incredible issue of "your" magazine! The success of Elettronica AV is in fact thanks to both what I like to call "my Dream Team" and to all the dozens of contributors and companies that have believed and believe in a unique publishing project in Italy and even beyond the Alps.

But back to Erin Brockovich. The choice was dictated by my unconditional passion for this film, which, thanks to a great script and a perfect performance by the always splendid Julia Roberts, is a true ode to defending the environment! And when it comes to the environment to be defended, it is a fact that modern electronic components have and will increasingly play a leading role! Just look at www.governo.it what the NRP includes under the headings Green Revolution and Ecological Transition: the major themes of sustainable agriculture, circular economy, energy transition, sustainable mobility, energy efficiency of buildings, water resources and pollution. All in order to improve the sustainability of the economic system and ensure an equitable and inclusive transition to a carbon-neutral society. You name it! Therefore, to simplify it to electric mobility is to miss the opportunities that a real and concrete green transition can offer. Not least because before "charging" an electric car one must produce (possibly green) energy and, above all, save energy!

According to the most common dictates, the 5 key points of the energy transition are and will be: the exponential increase of renewable energy sources, sustainable agriculture based on a circular economy, blocking fossil fuel exploration drills, protecting the environment and biodiversity, and, of course, zero-emission green mobility. These are all chapters where the "electronics" component has the right and the duty to have its say within a new economic and social model, developed to radically - and in a more sustainable way - reformulate the way the planet's resources will be exploited to live, produce and work. Live more, produce the right amount, and work better! This is not about "dispensing favors" to achieve the result-it is a sine qua non!
