Renesas: new semiconductor innovation center together with Tata

Renesas and Tata Consultancy Services open innovation center for semiconductor and software solutions for IoT, infrastructure, industrial and automotive segments

Tata Consultancy Services e Renesas Electronics Corporation have announced the opening of a joint Innovation Center in Bangalore and Hyderabad and to collaborate on radio frequency, digital and mixed signal design and software development for innovative next-generation semiconductor solutions.

The inauguration ceremony was held in Bangalore in the presence of Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, along with N. Ganapathy Subramaniam, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of TCS and Sailesh Chittipeddi, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Renesas' IoT and Infrastructure BU.

The Innovation Center will combine TCS' deep IoT expertise and knowledge in the manufacturing, telecommunications and automotive sectors with Renesas' advanced semiconductor designs and qualified integrated software support. The goal is to launch innovative semiconductor designs and software solutions for the IoT, smart city, industrial and automotive segments. "We are pleased to announce this strategic partnership with Renesas, which combines TCS's global experience in developing and deploying large-scale industry-focused end-to-end engineering solutions, its domain knowledge, expertise and intellectual property with Renesas's chip development experience and intellectual property. Together we will address industry demand and accelerate the creation of a semiconductor ecosystem in India," said Regu Ayyaswamy, Global Head, IoT and Digital Engineering, TCS.
