TDK has agreed to acquire Qeexo, a Mountain View, California, U.S.-based company born out of Carnegie Mellon University and engaged in end-to-end machine learning automation for edge devices. Its creation, Qeexo AutoML, enables the collection and instruction of data from 18 different machine learning algorithms, including neural networks and non-neural networks, on the same dataset, while generating metrics for each (accuracy, memory size, latency) so that users can choose the model that best fits their specific needs. The solution is cloud-based, easy to use, and provides an intuitive UI platform system to collect, annotate, clean, and visualize sensor data and automatically create "tinyML" models.

"Qeexo brings together a unique combination of expertise in automating the development and deployment of machine learning applications for those without ML experience, high-volume ML application shipping, and sensor understanding to accelerate the deployment of smart edge solutions," said Jim Tran, Ceo TDK USA. "Their expertise, combined with TDK's leadership positions in sensors, batteries and other critical components, will enable the creation of system-level solutions targeting a wide range of applications and industries."

Sang Lee, Ceo of Qeexo, adds, "Our platform comes from our history of developing and deploying high-volume ML applications, enabling even those without specific ML experience to solve real-world problems quickly and efficiently," he continued. "We see our AutoML tool as a natural partner for the smarter sensor systems TDK is building."
