The data Istat show that in November 2022 the index of consumer and business confidence improved. The former increased from 90.1 to 98.1, and the latter from 104.7 to 106.4. In particular, business climate and future climate show the most pronounced changes (from 77.6 to 95.2 and 88.8 to 102.8, respectively); personal and current climate increase more moderately (in order from 94.3 to 99.0 and 91.0 to 94.9, respectively).
Thus, after four consecutive months of decline, business confidence is rising again, driven mainly by expectations on production in manufacturing, expectations on orders in market services, and expectations on sales in retail trade. And it improves in all industries (in manufacturing, the index rises from 100.7 to 102.5, in services from 96.0 to 98.8, and in retail trade from 109.0 to 112.2) except for construction, where it declines from 157.5 to 151.9.
Consumer sentiment also shows positive dynamics due mainly to opinions about the country's economic situation (including unemployment) improving markedly, followed by expectations about the family economic situation and opinions about savings (future possibilities) recovering.
