Kicking off on Sept. 8 is an event dedicated to technical professionals: it is the Rome Innovation Hub, the first convention of the technical world to be held in Rome at the Palazzo dei Congressi. The event is promoted by the National Council of Industrial Engineers and Graduate Industrial Engineers and the Network of Technical Professions, with the support of the network Smart Building Italy and aims to initiate a discussion between design professionals, institutions and policy on achieving decarbonization goals.

Over the three days-September 8, 9 and 10-delegates from all technical professions and experts from different sectors will discuss the four strategic assets chosen as the leitmotif of the event: smart cities, the smart cities where everything is aimed at sustainability, well-being and energy efficiency; smart building i.e., the green and digital revolution in construction; smart mobility, i.e., the new electric and sustainable mobility connected with the sharing economy; and, finally, smart services, i.e., the new digital services, including satellite services, that are already governing every aspect of everyday life.

"The idea we championed as Industrial Tech nicians," says Giovanni Esposito, president of the National Council of Industrial Tech nicians, "was to bring together the commitment and passion of the approximately 600,000 technical professionals in our country, get them in dialogue with institutions and politics, and put concrete projects on the table to give solidity and concreteness to the various strategic missions of the NRP. To seize the opportunities for recovery, we need to be inside the processes with precise proposals and capacity for interlocution to make people understand how technical skills can be strategic in the different areas of green conversion of the economy, sustainability and digitalization. The ambition is to offer solutions and ideas that will allow Italy not to waste this historic opportunity; it is no coincidence, in fact, that at the conclusion of the Convention we will deliver our white paper made of concrete proposals to be then handed over to politics and institutions. We are at the center of this colossal project of remaking and transforming the country, and it is an opportunity we cannot miss."
