The 13th edition of the InnoTrans, leading trade fair for transportation technology, with 42 exhibition halls and a total of more than 2,770 exhibitors from 56 countries.

The exhibition is divided into five segments -- Rail Technology, Rail Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interior and Tunnel Construction -- and is organized by Messe Berlin. InnoTrans will occupy the entire Messe Berlin exhibition grounds, including the new exhibition hub 27. "Given the difficult general conditions and the latest developments, we did not expect bookings to be so high," said InnoTrans director Kerstin Schulz.

The event opens on September 20 with the conference 'The Future of Mobility in times of climate change' with a keynote speech by Volker Wissing, German minister for digital and transport. The panel discussion will include Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, Michal Krapinec, CEO of Czech railway company České dráhy, Michael Peter, CEO of Siemens Mobility, Henri Poupart-Lafarge, president of Alstom, and Peter Spuhler, CEO of Stadler Rail Transport SA.

Presenting innovative solutions for the industry will be Siemens Mobility and Deutsche Bahn, among others, with the H2goesRail project and Mireo Plus H, a new generation of fuel cell-powered trains.

Also of note is the Hyperloop Conference scheduled for Sept. 23, dedicated to ultra-high-speed transportation of the future.
