Analog Devices was among the protagonists of thelHannover Messe, held from 30 May to 2 June 2022, with a proposal of solutions designed to accelerate digital transformation, particularly with regard to the digitisation of factories, processes and construction companies. Here, in brief, are the highlights of what Analog Devices proposed at the show.

  • Intelligent Edge connectivity for agile production

ADI enables the complete digitisation of industrial automation with its Chronous™ Ethernet solutions, robust IO-Link® interface technologies and Ethernet switch technologies. By combining these capabilities, users can seamlessly connect their edge network to the cloud while leveraging key measurements and data-driven information about their assets.

  • Sensor-driven AI for better quality control

ADI's OtoSense™ quality control solution provides intelligence at the edge of any production line, capturing information about manufactured parts and production processes as an essential component in the digitisation of manufacturing. Through a combination of sensing, edge processing and Ethernet connectivity, OtoSense technology enables vibration and sound data to be translated into smart, actionable information in a robust, low-cost system in an environment controlled by industrial automation.

  • Smart data and information for greater sustainability

Using a combination of smoke and vision sensors, software-configurable input/output (IO) and Ethernet connectivity, a system capable of unifying data sources was demonstrated, allowing infrastructure managers to access real-time data and gain a holistic view of the performance of each building.

  • Smart sensing in robotics

With a view to flexible production, robotic systems are becoming increasingly powerful. High-precision depth sensing based on ToF (Time of Flight) enables pinpoint robotic accuracy and safety features. ADI's Trinamic™ technology, easily implemented in grippers and end effectors, enables robots to interact more precisely with the world around them.
