Iconsulting, an Italian consulting firm focused on the creation of strategic value from data, presented on 6 April the online event "Tech Speed Date - Data Govenance" entitled "Get in love with Data Governance Tools", a meeting in which it provided an overview of some of the tools currently available in the field of Data Governance, i.e. solutions for managing data as a real business asset according to the rules and with the aim of extracting economic value from the data.
Metadata Management, Data Discovery, Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Profiling, Data Lineage, Impact Analysis, Workflow Management, User Experience, Privacy Management: the topics related to Data Governance are diverse and navigating through the solutions available on the market requires specific knowledge. Iconsulting has the necessary know-how to guide companies that decide to undertake Data Governance and is familiar with the tools that enable proper management of information. These include those offered by IBM, Informatica and TIBCO.
Data governance according to Ibm
Ibm's proposal is called Cloud Pak for Data and includes, in a single platform (full-stack), solutions for Data Governance, profiling, linage, as integral parts of the Data Integration and Data Quality functions. As explained by Giulio Aragiusto, Advisory Manager at Iconsulting, this tool offers users the possibility to act as if they were in a marketplace and access the data assets they are interested in. The system makes use of the Artificial Intelligence capabilities of the Watson engine, which enables it to analyse the data on the platform, interpret it intelligently and extract it through the analysis of data patterns.
The Informatica proposal
The solution for Data Governance proposed by Informatica is Axon Data Governance and was presented by Michele Fabbri, Solution Architect & Project Manager at Iconsulting. Consisting of a modular platform, it is based on an Artificial Intelligence engine, Claire, which makes the discovery of Data Domains fast and effective. It should be noted that the platform is cloud-independent, offers integration with other Data Quality tools and is an Enterprise solution, i.e. designed to scan large amounts of data.
What Tibco offers
Metadata and data management, as well as census of Data Governance roles: this is what Tibco Cloud Metadata offers, the Tibco platform that allows the same user to manage several environments, which can be catalogued separately. Chiara Longo, Business Analytics Senior Consultant at Iconsulting, highlighted that the tool stands out for its excellent access configurability and integration with Tibco's SaaS platform.
