MAS started as a design studio and then became a specialist in embedded solutions. What have been the stages of this evolution?

C.S. | MAS is a relatively young company that has evolved and grown over a decade. It was founded in December 2008 as a design studio dedicated to hardware development. 2012 marked a turning point as, following a special request from a customer, MAS developed its first product with a Texas Instruments processor, the Fiamma AM335X CPU, which is still in production. Also in 2012, I joined the company, working alongside Sandro Mascetti as head of administration, marketing and communication, laying the foundations to start a transformation that in a few years would have projected MAS well beyond being a design office. In 2014 another very important step: the move to the new premises, which allows MAS to transform into a structured company with the arrival of the first employees. In 2016 the design continues and the production, verification and testing department is opened to provide customers with a product already tested and proven according to specific needs. Three years ago, the company decided to review its strategies in order to maximise its efforts and investments, identifying and promoting its identity and mission as a specialist in complete solutions for the embedded world.

Who is MAS today and what is its business model? What are its strengths and differentiators compared to other players in the market?

C.S. | MAS is the partner that accompanies its customers in the evolution of their product electronics, offering not only technology, but also technical support and presence. We develop a unique solution for each customer by creating the added value that enables them to generate a high market share and higher profits from the end product. Our business model is to propose a customised competitive value that customers need to position themselves in their target market. We want to provide increasingly complete and customised solutions and this goes beyond mere technology. In fact, we always try to give that extra something that is also identified in the human relationship and listening to individual needs, a choice confirmed by the strong and solid business relationships built over the years, characterised by a common strategic vision and high customer loyalty.

Who are your customers, what are their needs and what service/support can they expect?

C.S. | Our customers are medium and large sized companies, most of them are Italian; we reach 85% of the total customer portfolio in the markets mainly medical, environment, energy and automation. The companies we deal with need a technology partner close by, who is willing to work side by side. As mentioned, they need a physical presence to be able to speak personally with a contact person. This is due to the fact that behind everything MAS produces there is a lot of investment by these companies, so the electronics and technologies are really very important for the kind of business they do, and for all the ideas and projects they have in mind. For our customers it is very important to have people who are always there in times of difficulty, and this is one of the basic principles on which MAS bases its relationships with all its interlocutors.
