Arrow Electronics has signed an agreement with Quuppa, a specialist in RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems) with headquarters in Finland. On the basis of this agreement, Arrow will distribute Quuppa's products and services to its customer base.

"Location-based services are used in many market sectors, and the addition of Quuppa's products gives our customers new choices and greater flexibility within their projects," said Matthias Hutter, vice president product management & supplier marketing EMEA, Arrow Electronics.

Quuppa's Intelligent Locating System tracks labels and devices within a few centimetres with a latency in the order of milliseconds. The technology platform is becoming widely used in indoor tracking applications. The combination of its low cost, reliability and performance characteristics is the basis of its success in various sectors, from industrial to healthcare, from security to retail.

Quuppa's Intelligent Locating System is highly scalable and has an open API, making it easy to integrate with current and future systems. Its integrated telemetry and monitoring functionality eliminates the need for active maintenance and minimises ownership costs, combined with its long-life labels and ease of use.

RTLS technology has opened up many new applications to the market. In the industrial sector, RTLS enables safer and more efficient working environments and tracking assets, optimising their use and alerting staff to possible dangers. The healthcare sector, which has long known the benefits of automated medical tracking equipment in hospitals, can finally extend monitoring for the benefit of vulnerable patients. And nowhere will the performance and versatility of Quuppa's RTLS be more evident than in sports, where the technology is used to track the position of ice hockey players and puck players in real time.

"For us, this is an exciting opportunity to expand Quuppa's customer base and sales volume through Arrow's network in EMEA," says Sammy Loitto, CEO of Quuppa.
