Segger lowers its carbon footprint

Segger, in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland, has neutralised its carbon footprint for 2020 and plans to continue doing so in the future

Segger has always worked to minimise the use of resources and energy in production and in its own products and has been certified carbon neutral by TÜV Rheinland. TÜV Rheinland. Embedded sustainability

For all its hardware products, Segger offers compact versions with the same functionality in a smaller housing: this reduces energy and resources in production, but also packaging waste and shipping emissions. "As Embedded Experts, we are constantly analysing our products and focusing on reducing energy consumption, both at hardware and software level," says Rolf Segger. "Increasing efficiency and reducing energy consumption has always been part of our business, so becoming officially carbon neutral was a logical step for us."
Segger's integrated software also helps to make its customers' products more energy efficient: reducing power consumption by small amounts, multiplied over billions of devices and many years of use, makes a difference in energy consumption, ultimately reducingCO2 emissions. In 2018, Segger built a new energy-efficient headquarters and adopts electric, where possible, or hybrid company vehicles.
