Sustainable mobility: the future is now according to A&T trade fair organisers

Tomorrow's mobility must be seen in terms of new means of transport for people and goods, as well as multimodal infrastructures: this was one of the messages that emerged from a meeting held in preparation for the trade fair in February.

The A&T International Fair of Turintogether with the Chamber of Commerce of Turin, API, Unione Industriali Torino, Comitato Distretto Aerospaziale Piemonte, Politecnico di Torino and CIM4.0, all partners of the Table of Comparison coordinated by A&T, wanted to open the cycle of meetings leading up to the next edition of the event, scheduled from 23 to 25 February 2022 at Oval Lingotto, by addressing the strategic theme of sustainable mobility.

The event was organised together with CIM4.0 in the spaces of Politecnico Mirafiori,
home not only to the Competence Center but also to the new National Hub for Sustainable Mobility.

The meeting, moderated by Enrico Pisino, CEO of the Competence Center CIM4.0, saw a series of testimonies from leading representatives of the business, research and university worlds, who unequivocally underlined how the issue of sustainable mobility could foster a new development of the automotive sector, with inevitable repercussions on global competitiveness, provided that we talk clearly and concretely about technologies and services and not just visions and project ideas.

"Wecan no longer think in watertight compartments and, above all, a real circular economy will become a reality when technologies, skills and behaviours are put on an equal footing and the opportunities for recycling and reusing goods are taken into account,' Pisino commented.

The challenge, as was repeatedly stressed by the speakers present, representatives of prestigious brands such as Italdesign, Concept Reply, Adler Group, CNH Industrial - FPT, Punch Torino, Eldor, TIM and the Politecnico di Torino, must be to devise a new model of industry, a new model of society, a different relationship between business and territory, through the real application of solutions and technologies capable of giving a single meaning to the term transition, electric, ecological and digital.

We need to look at the mobility of tomorrow, considering new means of transport for people and goods, but also multimodal infrastructures. We need to think operationally about the evolution of supply chains where, alongside new agile and green production models, there must be adequately skilled vertical competences.

The round table organised by A&T, which today focuses on the automotive sector and in the coming months on aerospace, aims to bring together public and private stakeholders and promote common thoughts and paths to be developed in a broader manner during the three-day event.
