The Officine Grandi Riparazioni Ogr in Turin is hosting the Italian Tech Week which opens today, Thursday 23 September.

Some 70 speakers will be called upon to chart the way towards a future to which technological innovation will contribute above all.

After the inaugural greeting by the Mayor of Turin Chiara Appendino, a robot will kick off the conference: iCub, the small humanoid created by the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa. Its creator, Giorgio Metta, will be interviewed by Secolo XIX editor Luca Ubaldeschi.

Then there will be talk of startups, with particular attention to the Italian ecosystem: the report produced by SWG for Italian Tech will be presented, tracing the nine years since the birth of the first Italian legislation to support new entrepreneurship. Italy is lagging behind in terms of raising capital, the number of women, and the involvement of young people and foreigners, but the PNRR can give the right push if not to close at least to decrease the gap with the rest of the world.

The second edition of Italy's largest technology conference will bring together successful startuppers, venture capital funds and professionals from the international tech scene, and will feature as a special guest the most visionary engineer of our time, Elon Musk, who will debate with John Elkann (chairman and CEO of Exor and chairman of Ferrari and Stellantis) on the subject of technology and its impact on our future.

ITW is supported by media company GEDI through its new content hub on Italian.Tech technology.

Everyone will be able to follow the conference in live streaming on La Repubblica.it and La Stampa.it. The event is supported by Fondazione CRT, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and is sponsored by Reply, Lenovo, Eni and GoBeyond with the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce of Turin, the City of Turin and the Piedmont Region.
