Digi-Key Electronics promotes Back2School 2021 prize competition

Digi-Key Electronics is sponsoring its annual Back2School competition, which gives college students the opportunity to win a variety of prizes by using real-world tools and resources to learn about engineering.Projects can be submitted until 11 November. Winners will be announced in the following days.

To enter the Back2School sweepstakes, students must design and submit drafts of work designed to improve their lives, using electronic components and other products found on the Digi-Key website.

"We are excited to announce the return of the Back2School Sweepstakes, which inspires students to build products that solve real-world problems through hardware engineering and automation," said YC Wang, Digi-Key 's global academic program director. "Giving them the components they need is an excellent way to improve their skills and stimulate their long-term interest in engineering."

"At Digi-Key, we want to support the next generation of innovators," said David Sandys, director of technical marketing at Digi-Key. "We are proud to promote and host educational competitions like this one that can spark new ideas in future engineers."

The Grand Prize winner will receive an InstaLab kit, the turnkey kit that includes all the hardware needed to set up their own lab: an oscilloscope, a function generator, a bench power supply, a digital multimeter, a 120 V soldering station, lead-free solder paste, wire strippers and much more.

The second prize is a Lulzbot 3D printer and the next level winners will receive a Back to School kit including a smoke extractor, an Adafruit Parts Pal, a Seeed Grove Arduino kit, a Sparkfun Deluxe toolkit, a bench power supply and an Analog Discovery 2.

In addition, all participants can enter their name and contact information for a chance to win a PyGamer, an entry-level handheld for do-it-yourself gaming. The contents of the kits may vary depending on the geographical area of the candidate, but the prize will be of equivalent value.
