"The Coronavirus has shown us all how important personal contact is. In pandemic times, when the opportunity to exchange ideas and talk about technical matters at trade fairs has become rare, we decided to take a new approach." With these words, CEO Ralf Bühler opened the biggest mobile event Conrad in the company's almost 100-year history. What was successfully tested in the spring of this year by the Conrad Education Team in Germany will continue in the autumn in eight European countries. In addition to the education theme, the focus will be on intelligent procurement solutions and product trends for B2B customers.

The Conrad Sourcing platform

The truck will leave tomorrow, 8 September, from the Conrad headquarters in Hirschau, and will continue through Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland and Austria until it reachesItaly, where the tour will end on 30 November. Numerous on-site meetings with B2B customers and representatives of educational institutions are planned.

On the one hand, the Conrad team focuses on the needs of industry, development, trade, MRO and procurement, and on the other hand on consulting for schools and universities. "Starting from planning, through integration to implementation, we provide comprehensive support to educational institutions in their respective digitisation projects," says Jonas Jubelius, Director Business Development & Education. The offer in the Conrad Truck is just as wide-ranging: in addition to advice on the topic of the digital school and modern classroom technology, those interested in education can find out about creative STEM learning and coding tools and Conrad Education's further training offerings at the truck.

"Many customers, based on their own experiences, consider us to be a reliable technology reseller. But we can do much more and we are evolving from a product-focused to a solution-focused supplier, through a comprehensive service offering. It is precisely these possibilities of the Conrad Sourcing platform that we want to tell you about live during our Roadshow. And, of course, we will also take the opportunity to gather feedback from our customers so that we can develop even more precisely in the future and in line with their needs," continues Ralf Bühler.

Proven plan at the time of the Coronavirus

The Education Roadshow through Germany this spring showed that with forward-looking planning such an event can be realised even in times of pandemic. The incidence situation on site will then decide whether personal face-to-face meetings in the truck can take place as planned, in clearly defined time slots, or alternatively or at the customer's request, can be supplemented with virtual counselling appointments.
