Vertiv is a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions. In collaboration with its Russian partner Wizard, the company has supplied 100 Vertiv Liebert GXT5 uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to clinics in Moscow. The equipment is used to ensure a stable power supply for immuno-chemiluminescence analysers that determine the presence of coronavirus antibodies.

To ensure fast and accurate test results, the Moscow clinics' IT team identified the need for UPS systems to protect the analysers from potentially damaging power surges and spikes. The clinics also required the UPS systems and connectors to be installed in just two weeks. After evaluating all the alternatives, Wizard preferred the Liebert GXT5 series of 5-6 kVA UPSs. Wizard and the clinics' IT staff were impressed by the dual conversion mode offered by these UPSs, which can protect critical equipment from a wide range of power-related malfunctions and provide backup power in the event of a total power failure.

"Given the current pandemic situation and the increasing number of calls to medical facilities, uninterruptible power supplies play a very important role in the protection of critical infrastructure. Together with our partner Wizard, we have readily provided the ideal UPS in terms of size, capacity and features required for this critical application. More than ever, today's hospitals need high-quality, uninterrupted and absolutely reliable power supply," emphasised Nikolai Kharitonov, Head of Vertiv 's Representative Office in Russia and Belarus.

"The simplicity of installation and operation played a decisive role in the choice of systems. The Vertiv solutions have proved to be reliable in all the projects we have carried out together. Afurther advantage was that the required number of UPSs was readily available in the distributors' warehouses - timely delivery was essential," said Dmitry Losev, Head of Wizard's Strategic Customer Division.

Today, the installation of Vertiv UPS units supports the smooth operation of medical diagnostic equipment for the Moscow Health Ministry, where immuno-chemistry analysts provide more than 900,000 antibody studies per day.
