Lausanne, Switzerland, in the so-called 'Health Valley', is home to the company that patented the V-Sensor module. Leman Micro Deviceswhich has patented the V-Sensor module, capable of measuring blood pressure, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, heart rate and body temperature. V-Sensor is a tiny module with a fingertip-shaped depression on its surface, containing a Mems pressure sensor embedded in a flexible resin, an optical sensor, a temperature sensor and LMD's customised Asic, which digitises the sensor signals and manages the LEDs and communication. Following a partnership with two Shanghai companies, Shanghai Minshi and WuQi, V-Sensor has been integrated into a self-contained device the size of a key ring.

Minshi, as the product is called, presented at theCes2021 edition, incorporates, in addition to the V-Sensor, a battery and a small Wuqi computer chip that connects via Bluetooth to a dedicated app on a smartphone. The device measures 5 cm in diameter by 2.5 cm in depth and can be attached to a key ring or worn around the neck. Blood pressure is measured by gently pressing the sides of the device between the thumb and forefinger. The pressure is detected optically with the V-Sensor's pulse oximeter and an absolute blood pressure reading is displayed on the smartphone about 45 seconds later. Body temperature, on the other hand, is measured without contact, by bringing the module slowly to the forehead. According to Chris Elliott, co-founder LMD: "With V-Sensor, consumers can take responsibility for their personal health in a comprehensive way, with clinical accuracy".
