ST intensifies commitments and programmes for sustainability

STMicroelectronics announced the publication of its 24th Sustainability Report containing data on the Company's performance in 2020

In this challenging time, ST has demonstrated resilience at all levels, continuing to create technologies for a sustainable world, in a sustainable way, and to generate long-term value for our people and all stakeholders."

To achieve this very ambitious goal, we have set out a comprehensive and wide-ranging programme, which we will implement with the support of experienced partners and stakeholders in a collaborative approach."

STMicroelectronics' 24th Independently Audited Annual Report contains key findings and detailed information on ST's 2020 sustainability performance and presents the Company's longer-term aspirations and goals for 2025, in line with the United Nations Global Compact's Ten Principles and Goals for Sustainable Development. It is in line with the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

STMicroelectronics' sustainability objectives

In 2020, ST was included for the first time in CDP's A List for combating climate change. This recognition enshrined the company's commitment to sustainability, a commitment that is confirmed not only by its goal to become carbon neutral by 2027, but also by its membership of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), the reduction of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 19% in absolute terms compared to 2019, the purchase of 40% of electricity from renewable sources, corresponding to a 50% increase compared to 2019, and the commitment to use 100% renewable energy by 2027.
