Tomonori Morimura is the new Chief Operating Officer, with full responsibility for Omron Electronics Components' activities in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia.

Omron Electronic Components Europe has appointed Tomonori Morimura as its new Chief Operating Officer with full responsibility for operations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. The new Chief Operating Officer took up his post at the beginning of April at the company's headquarters in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.

Mr. Morimura has been with the Omron Corporation organisation since April 1992. Throughout his career he has held various roles, contributing an excellent mix of leadership, inspiration, operational experience and technical expertise. At the same time, he will continue to serve as Managing Director of the Omron Application Centre based in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.

Omron Electronic Components Europe is a leading supplier of electromechanical relays for printed circuit boards and is a primary supplier of microswitches, MOSFET relays, DIP switches, photomicrosensors and connectors. The company also has an important portfolio of innovative technologies including Mems sensors for pressure, flow and thermal monitoring, facial and gesture recognition modules, vibration and tilt sensors.

The company supports its customers in Eastern and Western Europe, Russia and the CIS through eight regional offices, a dense network of local offices and partnerships with local, regional and global specialist distributors.

Morimura will lead the activities of Omron Electronic Components Europe, bringing solutions to market for a wide variety of applications, including presence detection, environmental sensors and industrial control.
