Ibm announced in recent days a preliminary agreement to acquire myInvenioa company operating in the process mining sector based in Reggio Emilia. The planned acquisition will provide companies with data-driven software to help them identify those process areas most likely to be automated with AI - including sales, purchasing, manufacturing and accounting. The deal is in line with IBM's hybrid cloud and AI strategy and will provide customers with the industry's most comprehensive automation suite.

With the acquisition of myInvenio, Ibm will support companies in streamlining their internal processes to avoid congestion or disruption in workflows, thereby accelerating their technology innovation. The idea is to provide companies with a one-stop shop of AI-powered automation capabilities, including process mining, robotic process automation (RPA) and document, workflow and decision processing. Capabilities, these, integrated with IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation and powered by Red Hat OpenShift.

To illustrate: process mining software allows you to understand the time it takes to manually review invoices and check purchase requisitions for anomalies, or be used to review common IT requests and automate their resolution.

Dinesh Nirmal, General Manager, Ibm Automation , commented, "Digital transformation is accelerating across all industries as companies face increasing challenges in managing IT systems and complex business applications that embrace the hybrid cloud."

Massimiliano Delsante, CEO of myInvenio , added: "myInvenio's unique ability to automatically analyze processes and create simulations - what we call a 'Digital Twin of an Organization' - combines with IBM's AI-based automation capabilities to better manage process execution. Together we will offer a complete transformation and automation solution to help enterprises turn insights into action."

How the myInvenio technology works

The myInvenio features reveal inefficiencies, bottlenecks and tasks that can benefit from automation to support businesses in significantly reducing their operational costs and improving customer service. Simulations can be run to evaluate automation opportunities and measure the benefits at the beginning of the automation journey. By analyzing historical process execution data and desktop behavior, myInvenio technology can help determine where to apply RPA bots, automated decisions, AI models and other automation to have the greatest impact on the business. The myInvenio capabilities may also be available to IBM business partners and the dedicated Automation division of IBM Global Business Services, to assist clients in generating insights into their processes and help build a data-driven roadmap for effectively applying automation.
