Powell appoints Nicola Della Malva manager for Italy and South-East Europe

A connector industry veteran joins Powell Electronics, bringing design and marketing expertise to the distribution business for these components.

Powell Electronicsa provider of connectors and other solutions for applications requiring high reliability ("Hi-Rel"), in the defence, aerospace and industrial sectors, has appointed Nicola Della Malva as country manager for Italy and south-eastern Europe. Della Malva is a veteran of the electronic connector industry: he has worked at PEI Genesis, which he started in Italy 11 years ago, ITT and Yamaichi and is well known in the industry. In his new role he will be able to bring expertise in both design and marketing.

Gary Evans, Managing Director for Powell Electronics' European operations, said: "It is fantastic that Nicola has joined us. Her long experience and extensive know-how in the connector industry will be invaluable to Powell, our customers and our manufacturing partners."

Powell's newly appointed manager said: 'I am very pleased to have joined Powell. By being based in the EU with stock available from Ireland, Powell allows customers to avoid all the problems currently caused by Brexit. Powell already has an outstanding set of franchise agreements with Glenair, Lemo, TE (value-added products), Amphenol and Positronic, and I am ready to start helping customers find the right solutions for their interconnection problems."

Powell Electronics has in fact moved its European operations to its new headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, employing more technical professionals to support design activities and signing new franchise agreements with, in addition to the brands mentioned by Della Malva, Harwin, Quell, AB Connectors and Conesys.
