Danisense, a manufacturer of high-precision current transducers for demanding applications, announced 10% growth during the crisis caused by the pandemic. "Of course it was a difficult period. In the first few months of lockdown, business slowed down, but then a market recovery began," said Henrik Elbaek, CEO of the Danish company, which invests in the development of new products and new alliances to strengthen its reputation as a company renowned for the precision, reliability and stability of the products it offers.

Good performing sectors and new products

The medical sector showed good growth, but the electrification of motor vehicles, both for the consumer and industrial sectors, also performed well. Renewable energy projects - such as those for wind power generation in the North Sea and Baltic Sea - and the ongoing transition to solar power generation are changing the requirements of national and international power grids, with positive effects on Danisense's profits. In general, test and measurement applications in a variety of industries are also performing well. Loic Moreau, Vice President of Marketing at Danisense, commented, "We have been able to close a few important projects recently, but in general we see a lot of activity from companies of all sizes ." Last year, Danisense expanded its product portfolio to include a circuit-board mounted current transducer that offers advanced stability and accuracy. The DP Series' small size and light weight allows, for the first time, such high-performance measurement functionality to be integrated into the circuit board. Another recently announced new product, the RCMH070IB+ Residual Current Monitor (RCM) according to IEC62020-1 allows residual currents in power systems to be monitored without the need to shut down the system.

Strategic partnerships

Another factor behind Danisense's recent positive performance is the establishment of strategic partnerships and the strengthening of local support in several countries around the world. In Germany, Danisense is working with ZES Zimmer on a calibration program for DC electricity meters and HBM Digi-Key. HBMNational Instruments, an HBK group company, is offering customers an off-the-shelf solution of its power analyzer equipped with a Danisense current transducer. Internationally, National Instruments has selected the Danisense family of current measurement sensors for use with its RM-26999 four-channel power measurement signal conditioner. In addition, a distribution agreement was entered into with Digi-Key and new representation agreements have been signed with MeasureIT in Spain and Portugal and with AR Benelux in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

"During the current crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our staff is operating exceptionally well and while we look forward to a return to normalcy in the spring and summer, we continue to develop all aspects of the business to be able to meet the needs of our wide range of customers," concluded Elbaek.

Danisense was founded in 2012 and today has offices in Denmark and Japan.
