Avnet Abacus will host a series of webinars outlining the various trade-offs and challenges currently faced by engineers engaged in power projects.

Organised by Avnet Abacus' power issues specialist, Andrew Hutton, and scheduled every two weeks between 18 March and 27 May, the six 30-minute online engineering masterclasses will feature expert views from some of the world's leading power solutions providers.   • March 18 | Designing Power Supplies for Safety - Artesyn Embedded Power will explain how changes to safety guidelines will affect future design implementations.
  • March 30 | 7 key power considerations for electric vehicle charging systems - MEAN WELL will look at power integration, focusing specifically on AC chargers and eScooter charging platforms.
  • April 15 | EMI Requirements and Filter Design for Railway Applications - Murata Power will address EMI EN 50155 compliance and filter design considerations used in DC-DC converter designs for railway applications.
  • April 29 | Powering 5G RU Amplifiers: LDMOS and GaN Compatible Power Solutions (April 29) - FLEX Power will describe the challenges and requirements of powering 5G infrastructure.
  • May 13 | Modular Power Supplies: What, Why and How - Excelsys will provide some tips on designing modular and configurable power supplies.
  • May 27 | Power design challenges for laser cutting applications - Bel Power Solutions will examine how to develop reliable power system designs in extremely harsh operating environments.
