The community element14 community offers its members a new series of eBooks dedicated to educating engineers on the fundamentals of working with transistors, the building blocks of countless electronic devices.

The most common transistors are single-junction and Igbt (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor), hybrid devices between bipolar transistors and MOSFETs.

The first eBook covers the basics of transistors and semiconductors, atomic theory, semiconductor doping, PN junctions, holes and free electrons, and NPN transistor circuits.

Users will gain an even deeper understanding of transistors through the second eBook, which covers topics such as transistor bias, transistor beta, saturation and shear, calculations and impedance.

The e-books can be downloaded from element14 website after registration.

Other recent eBooks offered by element14.com include those designed to guide electronics engineers into successful careers. "Engineering continues to be in high demand, even in these uncertain times," says Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community and Social Media for the element14 Community. "We're excited to be able to help members of our community navigate engineering career paths and to offer advice from our partners not on how to find a job, but on how to find the best engineering job that perfectly fits their skills."
