Mouser sponsors the Create the Future Design 2021 competition

The winner of the initiative sponsored by, among others, Mouser will receive worldwide recognition and a $25,000 cash prize for creating an innovative product that benefits society and the economy

Mouser Electronics is one of the sponsors of the 19th edition of the Create the Future Design competition, in which engineers and innovators from all over the world compete to design the great invention of the future. Along with Mouser, Intel, Analog Devices and Comsol are also supporting the initiative, organized by Sae Media Group.

Registration for the competition is open until July 1, 2021.

The grand prize winner will receive worldwide recognition and a $25,000 cash prize for creating an innovative product that benefits society and the economy. Kevin Hess, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Mouser Electronics, said, "We proudly support programs that bring to light the brightest ideas of engineers, innovators and students."

The initiative is divided into seven categories: aerospace and defence, automotive/transport, consumer product design, electronics/sensors/IoT, production/automation/robotics, medicine and sustainable technologies/future energy.

In 2020 the first prize of $20,000 went to the team from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, USA, which developed a plastic film, inspired by nature, that can counteract contamination (RepelWrap).

The other winning projects were: Niobium connector (USA) for the aerospace and defense category; Low noise laser for LIDAR (Switzerland) in automotive; Ring, adjustable prosthetic leg for children (Serbia) in the consumer products category; Print IC, flexible and recyclable integrated circuits and systems(FLEEP Technologies, Italy) for the electronics category; Radibond,lightweight transportation materials assembly (Denmark) in the manufacturing, robotics and automation category; a chip for painless defibrillation (USA) in the medical category; Flash graphene (USA) in the sustainable technologies category.
