Farnell and element14 promote survey of women in electronics

Farnell and element14 launched a survey on International Women's Day to help shed light on the experiences, challenges and opportunities in the engineering/electronics sector for the female gender

  • What challenges have you faced, or seen women face, in the electronics industry?
  • What business benefits would enable women to achieve a desirable level of work-life balance?
  • What should young women aspiring to work in the electronics industry focus on?
  • What challenges remain in the electronics industry to achieve gender equality?
  • What actions can a company take to provide mentoring/development support to women?

These are some of the questions included in the survey that Farnell e element14 have launched on International Women's Day to help shed light on the experiences, challenges and opportunities in engineering/electronics for the female gender. Insights from the survey will be published on Women in Engineering Day, 23 June 2021.

"I've faced my share of challenges during my career working in technology and look forward to hearing from my colleagues about what their experiences have been like," said Dianne Kibbey, global head of community and social media for element14. "We hope to hear from people who work in this industry, regardless of their age, race or gender, so we can get insights into what works well for women and what could be improved."

The survey is open until April 30, 2021 to all professionals, including those who are not engineers.
