by Alice Chiarone | The pandemic has underlined the urgency of a digital transition for the Italian entrepreneurial system, which is called upon to gain a competitive edge in international markets in order to make up for lost ground. " This is the great challenge at the end of this first year, which has been strongly affected by the consequences of the blockade due to the epidemiological emergency," comments Rossella Spada, the director of the Interprofessional Joint Fund. Formazienda. "Technology and digitalisation must be structurally integrated into traditional processes and organisational models. Modernisation requires material and infrastructural investments together with the building of qualified human capital. Our task is to contribute to the overlap between labour supply and demand.
Formazienda was the first interprofessional fund to launch a funding call for human resources training open to the possibility of supplementing the resources of the New Skills Fund. This is a new instrument which, between 2020 and 2021, makes available 730 million euros. InNotice 5, the last in 2020, the Sistema Impresa and Confsal fund injected EUR 10 million into the productive world, bringing the total to EUR 30 million. The process of approving the training projects was concluded by rewarding innovation and digitalisation.
Technological upgrading of human resources
"The applications for Notice 5," emphasises Director Spada, "were submitted in response to a strong response from the production world. The qualification and technological upgrading of human resources is a priority for SMEs and the most structured groups. To promote the asset of competitiveness, we have set specific priorities and themes within our financing initiative. The dual track that we have guaranteed with Notice 5 combines the possibility of traditional financing, in line with Law 388/2000, and one aimed at receiving resources from the New Skills Fund. The former covers the costs of the training project, while the latter covers the cost of the personnel involved in the training hours. Our system because it channels all available resources towards the productive world".
Since its foundation in 2008, Formazienda's allocations have exceeded 140 million. Formazienda has a membership of 110 thousand companies and 750 thousand workers. The fund operates throughout Italy, is active in all sectors and cooperates with all types of enterprises.
"Proceeding along the path of an extensive realignment of skills ," concludes Director Spada, "means encouraging employability as well as raising the competitive standards of companies, which must make a strong comeback after the setback caused by Covid 19. Training, in this perspective, can play a crucial role. The crisis has accelerated the need for digital transition. The human resources training projects that will have access to Notice 5 funds go in this direction. This is a sign that our action has been able to intercept the training needs of companies that are widely engaged in a process of renewal.
