Analog Devices Embedded World 2021

At its virtual booth at Embedded World 2021, Analog Devices it is offering a technology overview of sensing, data acquisition, signal processing, data communications networks, machine learning and AI, power solutions and power supply design. Analog Devices will host roundtable sessions on condition monitoring technology (March 1, 3:00 p.m.) and power management and related design software tools (March 3, 12:00 p.m.). In addition, information on the training program for new graduates will be provided for all young graduates aspiring to join ADI (March 5, 11:00 am). Here are some hints on the different thematic areas in which Analog Devices will share experiences and solutions.

3D Depth Sensing

With rapid adoption in the consumer market, 3D depth sensing techniques have much to offer the embedded world. Providing industrial robotics with a more accurate "view" of the surrounding environment can produce benefits in terms of performance and safety: the same applies to logistics and automated material handling. ToF systems are also applied in different areas such as presence monitoring (people counting) in smart buildings, up to gesture control in the design of automotive user interfaces. In this area ADI cooperates with Microsoft.

Condition Monitoring

Condition-based monitoring of machine health is an area where Analog Devices has an offering from initial measurement through to data analysis. ADI's Condition-based monitoring solution determines machine health through spectral analysis of vibration data and includes proprietary MEMS sensors, high-resolution data acquisition systems, expertise in a wide range of network standards, both wired and wireless, and ADI OtoSense.

Power Supply and Power over Data Lines

At Embedded World, ADI is also dedicating space to the power supply, and in particular, to tools that simplify power supply design and ensure optimised results from the earliest stages. In power supply design, the crucial objectives remain the same: high efficiency, very compact circuit dimensions, low costs and minimal EMI. Today's systems feature boards with a large number of complex power lines, which pose a real challenge to the designer. Related to power is the area of power running over data lines, such as power-over-Ethernet.

From networks to e-mobility

During Embedded Week, Analog Devices also offers insights on: ADI's ultra-low power single pair Ethernet data network for field sensor connectivity (10BASE-T1L); Eagle Eye solution for occupancy monitoring in smart building management; data acquisition and signal management/routing; and in another area of focus, ADI's suite of offerings in e-Mobility, including battery management and data connectivity solutions for electric vehicles.
