element14 offers its members the opportunity to find creative and altruistic solutions to global disasters. Members are encouraged to think outside the box and share ideas that could potentially be used to combat anything from droughts to global floods, from world hunger to the long-term complications of Covid-19 symptoms.

"As the headlines continue to focus on the disasters plaguing our world, we are pleased to be able to offer our community members the opportunity to work towards solutions and build something that will have a positive impact," said Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community and Social Media for element14 Community.

For the 50 community members selected to participate in the challenge, Arduino has provided the Arduino Nano 33 IoT dual-processor board to help them build their projects. These must be submitted by April 19. Winners will be announced on May 3.

The grand prize winner will receive a Creality CR10-S 3D printer from Farnell, a 64GB iPad Air with WiFi and have the option to donate $500 to a charity of their choice. Second place will receive a 64GB iPad Air with WiFi and $250 to donate. Those who complete the challenge and follow the entry requirements will receive a pocket-sized digital multimeter.
