Electrocomponents has recently announced the acquisition of Needlers, a provider of personal protective equipment (PPE), and Synovosa leading provider of integrated supply chain solutions in the Americas.
Needlers also provides value-added services including technical consultancy and health and safety training videos and includes two private labels, Pro-Fit and Reldeen. The acquisition of Needlers will significantly enhance RS's product offering in the PPE market. Lindsley Ruth, managing director of Electrocomponents, commented: "We have been following Needlers for a long time and we are confident that it will significantly enhance our offering in today's crucial area of safety, hygiene and PPE solutions.
The acquisition of Synovos, a $145 million transaction, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021. Synovos will accelerate the provision of services in global procurement and significantly strengthen the Group's business in the Americas. "We can thus expand our value-added solutions offering in the Americas, significantly enhancing our proposition for corporate customers. In synergy with what we are already doing with Iesa , this acquisition will enhance our ability to support customers in managing their procurement, inventory and maintenance needs globally," Ruthfurther said.
