Since last July, the activities of HBM Bruel & Kjær Spectris have formally started. HBK Italy. The company was formed from the global merger of HBM e Bruel & Kjær and is positioned in the Italian market with a comprehensive range of systems and solutions covering theentire spectrum of engineering and industrial test and measurement applications. HBM Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH and Bruel & Kjær Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S are part of the HBM Group. Spectris plc. HBM Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH was founded in Germany in 1950; its products cover the entire measurement chain from sensor to software. Brüel & Kjaer Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S was founded in Denmark in 1942 and over the years has established itself in the production of measuring instruments for acoustics and vibrations.
Simulation, testing and measurement in one offering
The creation of HBK stems from the strategic vision to offer customers solutions that integrate experimental measurements with the world of simulation in an organic way. With its range of sensors, instruments, software and engineering services HBK helps its customers to transform data into information. The fields of application are diverse: from scientific research centres, such as national metrology institutes and universities, to the various sectors of industry, where there is a need to carry out measurements, tests and analyses in an experimental or production environment, not forgetting the civil sector, with environmental and structural monitoring. HBK's solutions will be offered on the Italian market directly by the company, without going through distributors.
An experienced team
HBK Italy srl can count on the contribution of an expert team of 27 people, some of whom operate from the Milan office, while others are located in various parts of the country to ensure maximum proximity to customers. A team with wide-ranging skills that, when necessary, also involves specialists from the parent company or other subsidiaries around the world to best meet the needs of companies and organisations that operate in Italy but need to be supported for their applications on a global scale. At the press presentation of the new company, Joe Vorih, president of HBK, said: "Our mission is to help customers create innovative products faster and faster. This is an ambitious goal, but a necessary one if we consider how development times have shortened considerably in some key sectors, such as the automotive industry: "Whereas in the past it used to take at least five years to go from design to manufacture of a vehicle, today it takes two," Vorih pointed out.
