As the number of electronic components used for advanced control in a large number of industrial applications has increased, so has the use of operational amplifiers, which can rapidly amplify weak sensor signals in safety-related fault detection systems. Conventional high-speed operational amplifiers are subject to oscillation induced by capacitive loads (i.e. the connection). At the same time, the degradation of the noise environment, due to increasing electrification and mounting density, is making the implementation of noise design in low-signal devices extremely difficult.

To address this need, Rohm has developed the Emarmour series of operational amplifiers and comparators, whose superior noise immunity allows users to reduce the resources they need to spend on design to address noise issues. The line has also been expanded with a new high-speed type, ideal for fault detection, which prevents oscillation over the entire range of electrical load capacity: the BD77501G high-speed, grounded Cmos operational amplifier.
The BD77501G not only supports the high amplification rate (high change rate: 10 V/μs) required by fault detection and other systems, but also completely eliminates oscillation caused by the electrical load capacitance (i.e. the connection). Unlike conventional high-speed operational amplifiers, which can become unstable due to oscillation induced by the electrical load capacity, Rohm's new product ensures operational stability, with no unwanted oscillation. In addition, while conventional products can fluctuate the output voltage by ±200 mV or more across the entire noise frequency band, the BD77501G provides unprecedented EMI immunity (noise immunity), limiting variation to less than ±20 mV (1/10th). The result is high-speed signal amplification without the issues associated with electrical load capacity or external noise, when installed in the second phase of sensor applications, improving reliability and reducing design time.

The Emarmour brand
Emarmour is Rohm's only brand that identifies products developed using proprietary circuit design, layout and process technologies to achieve ultra-high noise immunity. This technology limits output voltage fluctuation to less than ±300 mV across the entire noise frequency band when performing noise assessment tests in accordance with the international ISO11452-2 standard. This noise immunity reduces design resources while improving reliability by solving noise-related problems in the development of a large number of systems.
