Wearable devices have become a useful weapon to track, monitor and combat the progression of Covid-19. New developments and studies during the pandemic will lead to growth in the market for wearable devices such as blood pressure and blood glucose monitors, pulse oximeters, and EKG monitors, sales of which will register 30 million units in 2020 and reach 104 million in 2025, reporting an average growth rate of 28.5%, according to data from Abi Research.

"Wearable devices are increasingly being used in doctors' offices and to help healthcare professionals simultaneously monitor the vitals of many patients, both in and out of hospital, with a focus on specific health issues and the Covid-19 outbreak is no exception," commented Stephanie Tomsett, wearables market analyst at Abi Research.
