Farnell: new resources for home learning

With the Stay Home, Stay tuned initiative, Farnell has provided online resources to support educators, students and professionals who learn, teach or work from home

In these months of mobility restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic many have become familiar with learning in the home environment. With this scenario in mind, Farnell has launched a new campaign entitled ' Stay Home Stay Tuned', to provide access to a number of free interactive learning activities, including tutorials and coding challenges and an extensive presentation regarding easy-to-use electronic devices for remote learning of STEM disciplines.

Farnell resources for students

Resources include links to content from Micro:bit Educational Foundation, a member of the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Global Coalition for Education, which aims to mitigate the negative impact of this unprecedented educational disruption caused by the current pandemic. According to UNESCO, approximately 1.3 billion students worldwide have been affected by the closure of schools and universities due to COVID-19.

Contents for designers and hobbyists

For designers and hobbyists, the Stay Home Stay Tuned platform includes:

  • An overview of the most popular products from vendors such as Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz, ideal for professional projects dedicated to learning at home.
  • A series of webinars with vendor partners on topics such as testing for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and presentations on how to get the most out of your oscilloscope and 3D printing.
  • Links to design challenges and quizzes run by the element14 Community, including Project 14, the most recent community challenge that focuses on fighting bacteria.
