Advantech has expanded its offering of AI edge systems based on the Jetson platform for smart city, smart manufacturing, and AIoT applications with the MIC-710AIX and MIC-710IVX energy efficient compact industrial computers, which leverage the power of the new NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX module.

The MIC-710AIX module is designed to withstand shock and vibration in industrial environments with temperatures from -10°C to +60°C, making it ideal for compute-intensive embedded AI applications in harsh edge environments. The MIC-710IVX is a video AI system with 8-channel IP camera video analytics capabilities for smart city applications.

Like NVIDIA Elite PartnersAdvantech provides industrial systems based on the Jetson platform, supporting flexible industrial I/O and remote device management. The new Jetson Xavier NX with 384 CUDA® cores, 48 Tensor cores, and native cloud capabilities is the ideal platform to accelerate AI applications. With the latest NVIDIA Jetpack™ 4.4 SDK and a size smaller than a credit card (70x45mm), the module delivers server-class performance, up to 21 TOPS at 15W or 14 TOPS at 10W. This opens the door to embedded edge computing devices that require higher performance to support artificial intelligence workloads but must meet space, weight, power or cost constraints.

MIC-AI series products for edge computing

Advantech provides a wide range of MIC-AI series products in two form factors: AI IPC and AI NVR. Advantech AI IPC is an embedded industrial PC with passive cooling integrated into the entire line of Jetson SOMs (including the new Jetson Xavier NX, Jetson AGX Xavier, Jetson Nano, and Jetson TX2 modules). These systems enable IA applications in harsh environments such as roadside or production lines and support flexible industrial I/O interfaces for data acquisition and communication, e.g. installation of add-on cards such as frame grabbers and wired/wireless modules for a variety of application needs. The MIC-710IVA and MIC-730IVA AI NVR systems with Jetson Nano and Jetson AGX Xavier modules are used for AI processing in traditional video monitoring systems. The 8-channel PoE design with dual internal 3.5-inch hard drives allows the video data from the 8-channel IP camera to be analysed for smart city applications such as traffic monitoring, security, retail, logistics and more.
