Nicomatic introduces a complete connection system between flat-flex ribbon cables and circuit boards based on its patented CrimpFlex™ system that meets the most stringent electrical and mechanical requirements.
CrimpFlex™ contacts provide electrical continuity and mechanical retention by punching holes in flat-flex cable at 6 points: this is the innovation behind Nicomatic's patent, with contacts that can drill holes in a wide range of cable materials - polyester, FR4, polyimide, PTFE and more. Contacts are available in 1.27 and 2.54mm pitch in male, female and male brazed tab versions to meet most requirements. Female contacts can be optionally gold or tin plated and are available in three versions: Hi-Flex, low and high insertion force. Operating temperature ranges from -55 to +150 °C.
CrimpFlex™ enclosures, which comply with UL94V-0, are manufactured from glass fibre reinforced thermoplastic and therefore have considerable durability. They can be configured as single- or double-row devices offering 2-50 ways (2.54 mm pitch) and 4-100 ways (1.27 mm pitch). Various versions are available - polarised with locking mechanism, high density and right angle. They are compatible not only with Nicomatic's range of circuit board headers, but also with standard 0.635mm products on the market that are readily available. A full range of both male and female shunts is also available, as well as crimping tools.
