Mentors business, announced that its product lines are certified for the 22uLP (ultra low power) process technology of Siemens. Umc - United Microelectronics Corporation, the Taiwanese semiconductor foundry with over 10,000 employees.

Umc's 22nm process is ideal for many applications, including consumer integrated circuits (ICs) for set-top boxes, digital TVs and surveillance applications, but also for power-sensitive ICs, mainly used in wearable devices and Internet of Things (IoT) products, which have higher battery life requirements.

Mentor solutions certified by Umc

Mentor's certified products are: the Calibre nmDRC Platform for physical verification of 22nm nodes; the CaliberLVS Platform, with advanced features at each process node for complex designs; the CalibrexACT Platform; the CalibrePERC Platform; the AnalogFastSPICE Platform; Nitro-SoC physical design software, which has been optimised for ultra-low power IC designs produced using the UMC22uLP process, and is useful for companies developing IoT, artificial intelligence (AI) and integrated circuits for edge applications, as it saves on TCO and speeds product launch. In addition to achieving 22nm certification, these Mentor solutions have passed other recent Umc manufacturing processes.
