Avnet Silica distributes Qorvo's radio frequency solutions for the automotive and energy sectors

Avnet Silica has announced a new distribution agreement with Qorvoa provider of innovative radio frequency (RF) solutions. With this expanded offering, Avnet Silica will have one of the most comprehensive portfolios of RF solutions in the industry, enabling it to address automotive and energy management requirements. The agreement extends Avnet's existing partnership in Asia and expands its collaboration with Avnet Silica in Europe and the Americas region.

Avnet Silica in the automotive sector

In the automotive sector, Avnet Silica focuses on a wide selection of areas related to the digitally connected car, including:
- Antennas capable of simultaneously handling multiple high-speed data streams
- infotainment solutions supporting C-V2X / DSRC, Wi-Fi,
SDARS, GPS, LTE and 5G technologies for radio and satellite navigation
- Applications to improve driver safety and alertness
- products for telematics applications that connect vehicles to the cloud such as vehicle tracking, fleet management, satellite navigation or mobile internet.

All Qorvo products for this market are offered with AEC-Q100 / AEC-Q200 qualifications.

The energy management offer

Qorvo's products are designed for use in a variety of sectors within the industrial, commercial and consumer markets. For example, through the acquisition of Active-Semi, Qorvo's portfolio now includes:
- Battery management ICs that offer configurable single-chip solutions for ultra-compact battery-powered devices using lithium or lithium polymer batteries
- a range of high and low frequency buck and boost DC/DC converters, covering input voltages from 2.7 to 40V
