Murata has partnered with Truphonea global mobile network operator, with the aim of providing state-of-the-art IoT connectivity with a few simple clicks.

As a leading provider of connectivity solutions, Murata will use Truephone's SIM technology to enable users to connect IoT devices to network operators from the moment they are switched on. No complex activation process or even reading of complex manuals is required for connectivity - all it takes is the push of a button.

This collaboration will enable OEMs of all sizes to benefit from state-of-the-art IoT connectivity services from the earliest stage of device and application development. The Truphone network supports 2G, 3G, 4G and CAT-M1/LTE-M standards worldwide with a single SIM card and provides each customer with access to its own 'Truphone for Things' platform for IoT connectivity management.

Truphone's data packages (which provide coverage in several countries for a period of three years) simplify the connection process, allowing manufacturers to focus on their core business of making better connected devices.

Murata has developed a low-power cellular module, called Type 1SE, which includes an eSIM profile from Truphone and is integrated with the M2M eSIM service for remote SIM provisioning. So there is no longer a need to procure external SIM cards, as OEMs can instantly activate the connection via Truphone.

With the model developed by Truephone, other mobile network operators can join the RSP service so that they can provide the connection by downloading their profiles through RSP for M2M.

In the words of Ralph Steffens, CEO of Truphone:"Truephone and Murata share the belief that ease of use is the key to unlocking the potential of IoT. Our model, which uses a plug-and-play approach, is a step in this direction. It doesn't require long integration times or complex settings, it simply works seamlessly.

"Thanks to Truphone's advanced services, we can simplify and solve the issues that IoT users very often face when connecting their IoT devices to a cellular network," said Norio Nakajima, Director of Module Business Unit, Senior Executive Vice President at Murata.
