Element14 has awarded the 'Community Awards' for the year 2019. Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community and Social Media at element14 commented, "It is immensely gratifying to admire the incredible achievements of our global community over the past year, who continue to amaze us with innovative and original projects and their spirit of collaboration. We look forward to the projects our members will be implementing in 2020 and beyond.

The winners of the element14 Community 2019 awards 

-Member of the Year - Shabaz Yousaf

A key member of the Community, Shabaz Yousaf is always sharing his projects, encouraging and assisting other members with his projects and contributing to many discussions. His contributions in 2019 include building a world frequency band radio receiver, creating a portable electronic game, building an Lcr meter, as well as a logic analyser and protocol tester.

-Design Challenge of the Year - Art-a-Tronic by Enrico Miglino

Enrico Miglino is the winner of the PiCasso design challenge with his project Art-A-Tronic, an art installation realised in Gent, Belgium. Enrico's installation included an augmented reality computer vision mannequin with Raspberry Pi, binaural hearing and able to turn towards the person speaking to him.

- Decider, Founder and Influencer Project14 of the Year

The Decider of the Year is one of the unsung heroes of Project14 and has volunteered to decide the winners of competitions. Douglas Wong, Founder of the Year, helped come up with ideas for a large number of element14 competitions. And Dubbie, Influencer of the Year, has been the most active member of Project14, completing the most projects, blog posts, videos and ideas for competition themes.

-Project of the Year Project14 - Deo Lee's 5000W dual-drive electric car

Deo Lee has modified and upgraded a children's electric car, a 50W BMW i8 that originally could barely move with an adult on it, into an ultra-fast electric car, a 5000W dual-drive raging beast that can reach speeds of up to 60km per hour. Heralded as one of the most outstanding Project14 entries, the project is testament to how the programme has stimulated the ingenuity of the talented and skilled members of the community.

-RoadTest Product of the Year - MDO Series 3 Mixed Domain Oscilloscope

This remarkable test equipment from Tektronix has received an impressive 113 nominees for RoadTest reviews. It comes with many outstanding features, including a high-definition display in a compact design, built-in spectrum analyser option for RF analysis, a wide range of available serial bus decoding options, triggering, and much more.
