Omron has recently developed three new sensor solutions based on Mems technology, suitable for room monitoring and useful in smart home applications.
The first is the 32×32-element ultra-wide-angle version of the Mems D6T thermal sensors, which operates over a 90-square-degree sensing range and can therefore encompass a large area, such as an entire room, from a single point.
The second is the multifunctional environmental sensor 2JCE, available for the first time in Usb format, with dimensions of 14.9 x 29.1 x 7.0 mm, able to monitor temperature, humidity, light, barometric pressure, noise, seismic activity and air quality (gas voc). The sensor can accumulate data for a duration of about three months (based on a frequency of one communication every five minutes) and connect with multiple devices via bluetooth 5.0.
The third is the second generation of the Human Vision Components HVC-P2 integrated module, which offers 10 times the recognition speed of its predecessor. The module, which includes a camera and image processing platform, has ten image detection functions including body detection, facial recognition, hand detection, age, gender and mood estimation. The results can be displayed via a UART or USB interface.
