Dncreased support for companies wishing to invest in safety through a tax instrument, i.e. a tax credit equal to 50% of the costs for companies adopting organisational and management models, certified by joint bodies, deducted through the F24 model"..

This was the proposal made to the government by Berlino Tazza, president of Sistema Impresa, the confederation that organised, in collaboration with Inail, the national seminar 'Promotion and application of organisation and management models in SMEs', on 30 January at the Inail headquarters in Rome, dedicated to the promotion of Mog for safety at work.

Working alongside businesses

President Tazza put forward the proposal to the Government, taking advantage of the presence at the seminar of the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, Francesca Puglisi, who spoke at the opening of the seminar, representing 'the Government's willingness to work on health and safety issues alongside companies' and emphasising the need to 'favour the support approach over the sanction approach with the aim of creating greater organisational well-being within companies'.

The proposal for a tax credit for SMEs will be formalised by Sistema Impresa in the appropriate legislative forums by initiating a direct dialogue with the national executive.

"A regulatory intervention is needed," explains President Tazza , "to establish which investments are eligible for the adoption of MOGs, identifying the type of expenses that can be reported and the resulting amount of the benefit. The necessary coverage must also be determined, and to this end, the use of the substantial portion of Inail premiums that remain unused could be envisaged.

Spreading the culture of safety with Mog

Sistema Impresa, in the field of safety in the workplace, has carried out an effective and continuous action thanks to the funding of one of its bilateral bodies, the Formazienda Interprofessional Fund, which since 2008 has allocated 50 million euros for training activities involving 44 thousand companies and 148 thousand workers.

"Thedissemination of a safety culture in the service sector," continued President Tazza, "is a priority for Sistema Impresa, which we have pursued with tenacity in recent years and which has led to the definition of innovative practices: the Organisation and Management Models (OMCs) for the trade, tourism and services sector. A novelty for the sector we represent. The synergies with Inail, and in agreement with Confsal through the involvement of the bilateral system Fondo Formazienda and Ebiten, have enabled us to generate a virtuous working method, which allows us to provide integrated, fast and quality responses to the needs of safety in the workplace of companies in the service sector. Small and medium-sized enterprises must be supported with consulting and training tools, but they must also be rewarded and financially supported. Only in this way will they adopt organisational and management models that improve health and safety in their companies and lower the sad statistics on occupational diseases, accidents and deaths at work".
